FIRST AID OVERVIEW

Properly applied first aid can save lives, reduce recovery time and quite possibly mean the difference between temporary disability or lifelong disability for the victim. Program participants learn to recognize the signs and symptoms of injuries and sudden illness. Crucial information about how to deal with emergencies like shock, burns, strains, strokes and seizures is shared.

This program was reviewed by and meets the guidelines of the Occupational Safety & Health Administration and the Department of Transportation.

First Aid Student Book - Offers graphic photos and illustrations with comprehensive basic first aid techniques.

CPR OVERVIEW

Students master necessary skills for the administration of CPR. They learn how to recognize a life-threatening emergency, how to provide basic life support and what to do in the case of an airway obstruction or choking.

The American Safety & Health Institute CPR Programs are based upon JAMA (American Heart Association) guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and are consistent with other national CPR programs.
